Explore the beauty of Falmouth, Carrick Roads and the River Fal. Head out on one the UK's most beautiful bodies of water. In an hour you would be able to see Falmouth Harbour, Falmouth Docks, both St Mawes and Pendennis Castles and the scenic Carrick Roads. (roughly 7-8 mile round trip) Two hours provides for time to do the whole 16 mile round trip to Smugglers Cottage and back to Custom House Quay(Everything you can see on the 1 hour hire plus exploring the beautiful River Fal). Three hours or more gives you time to stop at one of the many spectacular locations en route including St Mawes, Mylor Harbour, Pandora Inn, Trelissick Gardens and Malpas Village.......
EQUIPMENT
Our Pilot 520 Cabin Boats are roughly 17ft long (or as the 520 in the name would suggest, 5.2 metres). They can accommodate up to 5 people and any dogs. Equipped with wheel steering for much easier handling (as opposed to your typical tiller steering), a 8HP outboard (roughly does around 8/mph at full speed, which is plenty for the 16 mile round trip in a 2 hour window) and roughly 50% of the boat is covered in case of cold winds or rain...

Recently 'Falmouth Boat Hire' has become 'Falmouth and Penryn Boat Hire Ltd.'. Dave Fearn is the managing director running in partnership with George Pill. Between them they have over 60 years worth of experience and knowledge of boating in the local harbour, rivers and waterways. From rowing around the harbour as young boys, crewing as teenagers to skippering their own fleet of pleasure boats. Both owners have spent their lives working in the boating and tourism industry in the local area so be rest assured that they will always strive to provide satisfaction, value for money and a great experience.
Falmouth and Penryn Boat Hire runs April through to October day in day out (weather permitting). On arrival you will have a full safety brief of how to use the equipment provided, where you can and can't go and also a brief introduction to your vessel.
